The disastrous effect of this common Marketing approach
please please don’t ever think you need to ‘be like’ someone else in order to sell…..
I was in a Mastermind call a while back (me as client, not a Mastermind I was guiding), and I had the most interesting experience…
There was a woman in this Mastermind group who I’d only seen in the Facebook group and online, in her own social media presence — and, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t really love her Energy.
She felt a lot like a lot of the other coaches out there.
She felt a little in-your-face and, like, “Power Femme” vibes.
All of her graphics and branding was high-contrast, big Energy, penthouse badassery.
Obviously this isn’t really my cup of tea (no shade, it’s just not what I’m drawn to).
And then I had the most interesting experience...
She joined one of the Mastermind calls,
and she was so... soft...
warm and gentle, Energetically.
She was someone I could totally see curling up on a sofa with, wrapped in cozy blankets with tea or something stronger, and feeling safe to bring my Heart.
And, honest to god, I would never, ever, ever have thought that would be how I’d feel in her Presence based on her branding and online presence. Even how she showed up in the private Mastermind Facebook group.
I liked this ‘other woman’ she was when she wasn’t selling.
I liked how she felt.
I felt like I could want to get to know this woman more, even be in her Field a bit more.
But I felt repelled by who she was online. 😳
I know — I KNOW — that so often, we see people online absolutely crushing it in their success (or at least that’s what it looks like), and we can start thinking:
Maybe I should start showing up a little bit more like they are;
maybe that’s part of the ‘code’ of Success I’ve been trying to crack;
if it works for them — I’ll adopt that, and it’ll work for me, too.
It’s so tempting to look at other people (plus we’re Conditioned to do this) to see the example of how we should be, who we should be, or things we should do...
...but I promise you, I promise you, you will feel like the most perfect, cool, refreshing drink of water in the hot, dry desert to your people,
and trying to be — or even do things — like other people
will have them thinking “you’re not for them.”
You were Designed to be YOUR Way,
who You are,
in the unique Essence and Flavor and Textures of You
even the funny quirks or “odd ways” that you think are flaws — those are for your people, too.
It’s one of the ways they’re gonna Recognize you.
It’s one of the things that’s going to give them massive amounts of Permission to do things they way they’re craving to do things (even if that’s still Unconscious for them)...
...and that 👆🏽 is one of the things they’ll hire you for.
Please don’t dilute You.
Please don’t contort You.
Please don’t keep gazing at someone else’s paper
thinking they have the answers for you.
Your particular Light
is the one we need you shining...
I Know we’ve all heard that before — but I was absolutely stunned by the total 180 in how I ‘felt’ this woman...
In just how “repelling” the Energy can really be
when we’re not being Us.
