And at first, I thought it was just that — a Dream

{ part 3 }

And at first, I thought it was just that — a Dream. This Dream that happened probably 10 years after I found that perfume...

I was in an ancient Egyptian temple. I can still smell the stone and earth of the floors and walls, the fire burning along the corridors.

And a man approached me. I didn't know him... but I also knew him at the same time. He walked up to me, and he grasped my right wrist, pulling it up to his nose and inhaling.

"What scent are you wearing?," he asked.

"Cleopatra," I said.

And the most beatific smile spread across his face. As if I'd said the exact right thing. As if it was what he was waiting to hear. As if I'd said the password.

And then this man, he offered to be my Teacher. Without a single shred of hesitation, I said Yes.

We hugged — he definitely felt familiar — and then he led me deeper into the temple... Down through a long corridor, turning right into a smaller room (which was still not small, but smaller than the main temple), and it's here that he showed me a Sacred Book, and showed me several pages inside. Pages that brought me feelings of utter, blissful, Divine joy, and others that brought intense sadness, anguish, horror. I didn't want to see those pages.

"It's important that you see," he said.

He guided me out of that room, to a pool area just outside the temple... introduced me to a woman there, sitting at the edge, her feet dangling over the sides. She was to help mentor me, as well.

I woke up from that dream, thinking, "Well THAT was an incredible dream!" And I wrote it down. I was no stranger to intriguing and visceral dreams like this one; I loved to journal them somewhere so I could remember them vividly later.

Then I went about my life... as you do... because it was just a dream.

Until, that is, about a month or two later.
